I noticed there was some confusion around trailing slashes on URLs, so I hope this helps. tl;dr: slash on root/hostname=doesn't matter; slash elsewhere=does matter (they're different URLs) pic.twitter.com/qjKebMa8V8

This has been an issue we’ve been dealing with for some time at Little Warden, the dreaded trailing slash!
This has been a tough thing for us to work through as with almost 100,000 URLs monitors we’ve seen LOTS different ways of handling the trailing slash.
We’ve been having some internal discussions about this and we are taking Johns information and adding it to our internal wiki so starting today over the next few weeks if we detect on the root domain that you’ve added http://example.com but your rel=’canonical’ is pointing to http://example.com/ we will no longer consider that a Warning but will let you know it’s All Good.
We will also be rolling this out for redirects and other checks but they are a little complicated so will take a bit more time.
Have a good week!
